Ford Escape hybrids at the red carpet

Did you think that only BMW was going to show its green vehicle technologies via the entertainment industry? Not likely. Now it's time for Ford, which has a bunch of Escape Hybrids that are going to be the official transportation for the Screen Actors Guild's (SAG) Award of Excellence Star on Hollywood Boulevard. The event is celebrating its 75th edition this year.
Ford is sponsoring the event and using it to showcase the Escape hybrids. Fifteen of these vehicles were used to shuttle Screen Actors Guild members and other VIPs from the breakfast ceremony to Hollywood Boulevard where SAG received The Award of Excellence Star from the Hollywood Historic Trust.
The interest is obvious, as Bill Ford said: "Introducing our Ford Escape Hybrid to Hollywood today continues a long tradition of Ford's supporting role in movies and television that goes all the way back to our company's Model T."

So thats where they all are. There is a terrible shortage of these escape Hybrids. Customers want them, will pay full price, but we can't get them. Now Ford is telling us that there won't be any built until February......
Ford's loyal customers can't get them, but politicians and actors can use them as props to prove their green credentials.

blame it on the japanese companies that prefer to sell their batteries to the japanese companies first before the americans DUH WHO WOULDN"T. WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU SELL TO YOUR COMPETITORS INSTEAD OF YOUR OWN DOMESTIC BUDDY?!?!?!
What Ford needs to do is wake the **** up and get battery suppliers from local boys like A123, nanosafe and valence, stop going overseas to fund your hybrids.

I just sent this to Ford, Enjoy!
Dear Ford: Don't get me wrong.
>
>I'm a patriotic American, my grandfather worked for
>Ford (I'm wearing his 35th anniversary watch right
>now), yet I cannot buy American: I want to give you my
>money, but you can't provide me with the car I want.
>Yes, another Ford Escape Hybrid Complaint.
>
>I have X plan pricing with PIN in hand, I have the
>down payment, I have a credit score better than
>Switzerland: Ford just does not have a car to sell me.
> I don't want the regular Escape (no offense) but the
>hybrid one. You know, the one in the commercial I see
>all the time. It's a taunt, a tease, an in-your-face
>that "hey, you can't touch this..." It's like that Jr.
>Prom that went horribly wrong....but I digress.
>
>It's time for us to break up. I'm leaving you for a
>Honda CRV that I haven't even test driven. The Honda
>dealer promises to put out (a car at least). So
>Goodbye. Please, don't cry. We both know, I'm not
>what you need. It's been good, but it could have been
>great. Good luck with the future. I know you're
>struggling to break even, I just wish I could have
>helped put you over the top. I'd say "Let's be
>friends" but I don't want to lie to you. Peace, Love
>and a stock price back above $14 -S in Texas.
