Alt Car Expo 2007: Tell the world in shiny letters you're driving green

Third Planet Energy's booth at the Santa Monica Alt Car Expo caught my eye. Which is exactly what the folks there intended. In fact, Third Planet Energy's whole goal is to allow you to catch other people's eyes, through the use of chrome emblems that will upgrade your car's back end to identify just what kind of powertrain you're running in that thing. All electric? VegOil? Hybrid? CNG? Biodiesel? All these emblems and more are available, as you can see in the gallery photos.

Frankly, if they are going to have truely green lettering their sign should look more like this.

G.F. - Yes, electric cars will eventually be the way to go, but you're knocking all biofuels yet you leave in natural gas and hybrids? I agree that corn ethanol is a humanitarian travesty, but biofuels aren't all bad, they're a good transition off of fossil fuels until we can get some great battery technology (ultracapacitors?) to make electric cars really workable. Cellulosic ethanol has promise, algae-based or waste product-based biodiesel have far less emissions than fossil fuels, and WVO especially is complete recycling. Additionally, biofuels allow us to utilize current modes of transportation with a lesser impact, rather than having to build all new electric vehicles.
