Cellulosic ethanol summit scheduled for next week

Ethanol company POET announced today that it will present an update on what's been going on at the oh-so-humbly named Project Liberty at a summit on cellulosic ethanol in Washington, D.C. next week. Apparently, the "high-level governmental, agricultural, financial and commercial players" will need three days (Oct. 15-17) to digest the state of cellulosic ethanol in America.

Aside from the presentation by Doug Berven, POET's director of corporate affairs, the following people will give keynote addresses:
  • Chuck Conner, Acting Secretary of Agriculture
  • Alexander Karsner, Assistant Secretary of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Department of Energy
  • Jay Inslee, US Representative (D-WA)
Representatives from the offices of Senators Ben Nelson and Richard Lugar and Representatives Inslee and John Barrow will also participate in round table discussions. Think anything will come out of it?
