Frankfurt 2007 videos: Fiat ecoDrive, Peugeot Flux, Chevy Trax
Filed under: Emerging Technologies, Chevrolet, Fiat, Peugeot, Frankfurt Motor Show
Above is a video all about the Fiat ecoDrive. It's a USB device that logs how you are driving and with the help of Microsoft, takes over the world. Actually, that was Plan A. Plan B is to log how you are driving, transfer the data to your via USB and PC software will give you tips on how to lower CO2. It will be in most Fiat cars soon. Below the fold is another video with great highlights from the Frankfurt Motor Show including a concept hydrogen roadster by Peugeot called Flux. The video also mentions the contest Chevy is having where you vote for one of three small cars and they will make it. I added a video of the Trax because it's clearly going to win.

Joseph, the software will "provide suggestions about how to modify your driving style to minimize emissions and fuel consumption." Which I guess would be the regular suggestions you should follow like slow down. I assume they have other more interesting things but I have not seen the software so I really could not comment. Onstar can tell you to inflate your tires so it may have features like that.

Not better, but more efficiently. It tracks your CO2 output and gives you suggestions on how to drive in such a way that you burn less fuel and emit less CO2.
Personally, I think it's a great idea, but it needs to be integrated into the car. The output should be on the nav screen, in real time. It'd be fantastic if all cars included a real-time fuel economy meter or CO2 meter.
