Honda UK announces Top Spec Civic Hybrid

Sure, a hybrid vehicle has a lot of fancy tech under the hood, but what about in the cabin? If you're wishing your Pirus had more than a touch screen info display, Honda UK might have your next hybrid. The company has just announced a new high-spec, satellite navigation-equipped version of the Civic Hybrid that will be available in November; dealers are taking orders now for the £19,300 OTR vehicle.
Aside from the sat nav system, the new Civic Hybrid EX will include leather upholstery and Honda's Hands Free Telephone (HFT) Bluetooth equipment, controllable from the steering wheel. The voice-controllable DVD navigation system replaces the six-CD changer on earlier models and gives traffic updates as well and route and weather information. Honda describes it this way: "Just hold the correct button, say the word 'Restaurant' and the system will locate the nearest places to eat, and then direct you to them." It's so advanced you don't even need to say "KITT" first.

My US 2007 Civic Hybrid has the voice activated navigation system too... No bluetooth, but I can press a button and say "find nearest" then insert anything such as "grocery store" "gas station" to "korean restaurant"

My Prius does all that and more. Except I can just say "I'm Hungry" and it'll show me all the restaurants near me with their phone number so I can hit call and it'll route through the bluetooth system automatically that way I can place a take out order over the handsfree and be on my way. All without taking my hands off the wheel. The only thing the Honda seems to have that's better than the Prius system is traffic information.

The 2007 UK Prius got TMC (traffic information too). Not to mention rear-view camera (useful) and parking assist (useless). Leather seats are extra though.
