Bush might veto the energy bill
Bush's senior advisers recommend vetoing the energy bill according to a statement from the DOE. They say it "does little to increase our nation's energy security or reduce greenhouse gas emissions." It "will actually lead to less domestic oil", "gas production and increased dependence on imported oil," "higher energy costs and higher taxes." They think the Congress should implement Bush's Twenty in Ten plan. Bush is not known for using his veto power. If he signs it or vetos, stay turned to Autoblogreen for the latest.

It's definitely surgery on the energy economy. It will probably make the economic patient sick for a while. Hope it doesn't kill him...
I wonder if after the Fed will replace the US $ Dollar with Ameros after they have finished collapsing it by printing $ Trillions to pay the interest on our national debt? Of course, they will have to finish forming the North American Union by joining the US, Canada and Mexico first? I understand that process should be completed by 2010.
Anyway, I'm putting my money into euros...

And the current energy bill hands how much to ADM/Cargill for unsustainable ethanol-from-corn production?
I predict we eventually come to our senses, but not for another 5 years (ethanol is a great additive, but a lousy fuel)
10 years from now hopefully we'll see most of those new ethanol plants quietly rusting away.

This new energy bill contains a PHEV tax credit, which is pretty obscure and rarely reported (maybe because most people don't know what a PHEV is and you can't buy one yet). Read about the credit at http://greencentiv.typepad.com/
