Comet EV coming from China to challence the VentureOne?

The VentureOne might soon have some competition from China. China Car Times has got some info on the Comet, a new three-wheeled, all-electric city vehicle. The company behind the Comet EV is Flybo-Ev, the same firm that's trying to bring the Smart clone to the U.S. Speaking of clones, let's just say the Comet isn't exactly a VentureOne clone (see a pic of the VentureOne, based on the Carver, here), but the Comet sure is similar-looking, just with two wheels in front instead of in the back.
The Flybo-Ev website doesn't mention the Comet at all, but China Car Times says that the Comet will be made of cabon fiber and Kevlar, with 'alloy' wheels also made of carbon fiber. There are some high-tech touches in the interior, with a 40-60 gb hard drive and DVD player, as well as a GPS unit. With a top speed of 100mph and a potential 200-mile range (depending on battery pack), and a possible price tag of $30,000, the competition could be stiff. The VentureOne will likely be $23,000.

No tilt. . . two wheels up front, one in back. . . Wouldn't this make a closer comparison for the Silence PT2 rather than the VentureOne? (Although, the Silence lacks a fully enclosed cabin and is arguably more like a three-wheeled Wrightspeed X1.)
The body of the Comet looks highly aerodynamically streamlined. This is the kind of shape that aerodynamics engineers create and other people tend to look askance at. It's a classic 3WW: a 3-Wheeled Weirdmobile that would make a great prop in a sci-fi movie.
I guess it all depends on how much attention you crave. :)

Nice, but if it costs as much or more than the Venture One, I'd prefer the Venture One.

An electric powered enclosed reverse trike with good performance specs is pretty much what a lot of people in the RT movement have been looking for. It's a little more than what most would want to pay, but I'm guessing that they're using Lion batteries for weight savings and performance reasons and those are still fairly high priced.
Still, when you compare it to the $100,000 electric vehicles on the market I'd say job well done. It meets the minimum requirements of what most have indicated they want in an RT so I expect their will be many that will be satisfied enough to become a customer for this one.
Thanks,
David Ewing

Will we get another pie-in-the-sky rendering? I was quite thrilled with the Venture One since it incorporated thought of inline passengers, and was a business venture (sic) of California; my home.
Although I prefer 2 front wheels and 1 rear wheel more than 2 in back and 1 in the front like the Venture One, trikes are a rarity in the U.S. Bravo for "forging" ahead! Thanks for the info- be it a rendering or not!
