Toyota RAV4 EV currently up on eBay

There hasn't been an all-electric Toyota RAV4 on eBay for a while, but we can now watch the bidding go up in this auction until the 25th. The current bid is around $10,000 but it's reasonable to expect this to climb to $50,000+ by the end of the auction, because that's the range these RAV4 EVs usually end up at.
This particular vehicle is being sold by the original owner, who claims it still averages 65 miles per charge (at 70-75 mph on the highway). The seller is including a paddle-type MagneCharger and 100 feet of 8/4 extension cord. Any guesses on where it'll end up?

I honestly fail to understand why anyone would pay above fair value for a vehicle like this for any other reason then personal vanity.
Environmentally, its a zero sum game regardless of who wins the auction.

Many blame GM for the death of the Electric car...but what about Toyota? Why didn't they lead the world into EV bliss with the Electric RAV-4's? What ever happened to Toyota's program for EV's?--Does anyone know? Sounds to me like they just gave up on it. Seems hypocritical to condemn GM for giving up on the EV-1 when Toyota did the exact same thing with their RAV-4 EV.

What are you talking about? This EV survives from an era of great extinction (Mandate, Crushing ect.) and is a lovalble collector's item. LOL
EVs are the balance of the cheapest, quietest, most feasible, and most environmental of the propulsion technologies we have today.

If you saw the "Who Killed" movie, most of the focus was on GM and the EV1, but it was not kind to Toyota either. We got to see a RAV4 EV repoed and hauled away to its doom. Toyota gets credit for the Prius, but let us not forget that Honda introduced the first hybrid (the Insight) and Honda has a generally stronger track record for making efficient cars.
And yes, we got to see Honda EVs lined up waiting to be shredded in the movie too.
Mitsubishi seems to be the only established car company with a continuing interest in pure battery-electric cars, and from what I understand they intend to start selling MiEVs (only in Japan, I think) in 2008.

What are we doing about this issue?
Minority groups boycot big companies, protest to government officials and raise all kind of heck to get what they want until they finally get it.
In this issue, the American public is a "minority group" been pressured bu the big companies on fuel dependency. But, what are we doing about it? Who do we write to? Complaint to? Boycot?
