That's because its a VW. I bought a brand new 2001 VW GTI VR6 and it had problems the second I drove it off the lot. I would love to get a diesel car, and right now it would be limited to a VW, but I will not buy another VW ever again.

@TicalWRX - sounds like that should be TypicalWRX
anyways, its a f#ckin race car and a first biodiesel entry. it has nothing to do with consumer markets. yes, some brands use racing as testing for future tech but this is not a factory VW team. this could help in the alternative fuel area though.
It will not help in a 50min race though, where as it "did" for the Audi's before their restrictions this year.
Your not limited to VW diesels only, research it.
VW diesels are awesome. Upwards of 700m per tank. Upwards of 200k on the dash and they keep going!
Do us a favor, go by another brand ;)

Sounds like oneighturbo's insinuating that altfuel racing projects don't contribute to the greater good unless they're factory-supported. Such a viewpoint would ignore development of local and aftermarket knowledgebase, an essential infrastructural component.
