Ten tips to make winter cycling easier


The venerable Times of London seems to be publishing a blog now and TreeHugger points to a post with some pointers to make it easier to get around on a bicycle in the winter months. If you live and work in an urban environment and don't have an outrageous commuting distance, pedal power can definitely be a viable mode of transport. In a city like London, New York or Toronto, where traffic congestion is a killer, it might even be better than mass transit if you don't live near a subway line. Among the tips the Times offers are having some eye protection against flying chunks of ice and snow, extra socks and probably most important of all, the farmers nose blow.
