Myers Motors bringing new EV to market in 2007: the Qui Moto

AutoblogGreen readers are no strangers to Myers Motors and their tiny electric car, the NmG (No more Gas), which Ray Holan profiled in depth last summer. And it's an AutoblogGreen reader tipped us off to the so far low-profile announcement from Myers of their newest EV, the Qui Moto, coming next summer.
Myers is not releasing a lot of information on the Qui Moto just yet. They say it has a 60 mile range, and can go 30 more miles on a mid-day 50 percent Depth of Discharge 110-volt charge. The Qui Moto can go 1,000 miles on $25 worth of energy and seats two side by side, Myers says. Price and other details are unfortunately unavailable. The NmG sells for $24,900.
The sleek yellow Qui Moto (with a drag coefficient of 0.019) is more strikingly beautiful than the NmG, and certainly looks more futuristic than most other cars available today or soon. Perhaps this creative style comes from the subtle message on their logo for Romans 12:2, which demands people be independent and freethinking to discover the will of God. I wonder if that makes the Qui Moto a Godmobile?

The Qui Moto poster says Tandem seating... and I don't think that means "side-by-side" seating...

According to the Myers Motors site, it has a tandem seating. Either side by side or tandem, I think it is a really cool looking vehicle.
With fuel cells being improved (some the size of a car battery), it would be neat to see it use a fuel cell or a fuel cell with batteries.

This thing was designed back in the late 80s, I have the magazine somewhere at the house. It shows the buildup but I cant remember anything about the drive train right now, I have some digging up to find the magazine its in. If I can get my hands on it I will scan the article and give the address to its location.

Looks like a stapler on wheels. Still, a big improvement over the NmG model, which appears to be a clone of the Corbin Sparrow (but it looks like a duck).
Sounds like the performance will be better, too, but some details won't be released until next summer.

Nice see you publishing infomation on QuiMoto, the one thing that has been left out is that it was Designed, created, constructed by Alternative Automotive Design of Crockett Texas.
Myers Motors have along with many other companies and individuals have exprsed interest in taking the Design further, utilizing there proven drive train.
Untill contracts and other legal stuff have been finalized Alternative Automotive Design own all copyright, designs and credit for its creation,
All prospective interest should be directed to Stephen Stringer clayman@claymodeller.com

Yes, the Qui Moto vehicle is a design of Stephen Stringer of Advanced Automotive Design, not a Myers Motors design as was implied in last month’s blog. Myers Motors was not contacted for that post so we were not able to specify the correct credit. We appreciate Mr. Stringer allowing us to use the vehicle to test the market’s interest in seeing this vehicle produced by Myers Motors.

Actually, we did get into the connection between Myers Motors and Mr. Stringer's Qui Moto in later posts. Check out these two:

For those of you following the Qui Moto I found the mag I was looking for. I was not far off, The year was 1991, KitCar. The pics show and explain the build up and says that it is not intended for production but if so it would lean into corners like a motorcycle and use a motorcycle drive train.
I posted the pics in my webshots.

I have more stuff on this little guy as I have loved it from the first time I read the magazine. I will try to find the other stuff I have on it...if I can.
Seeya!
