Hummer owners can easily switch to biodiesel, hydrogen and propane
The promotional brochure for Predator Motorsports has seven photos of Hummers, all them doing a smoky burnout. The Southern California tuner shop is known for hot-rodding the gas-guzzling beasts or outfitting them with trick suspensions, high-priced leather or high-tech electronics. Predator also appeals to the owner who may feel a little guilty about the Hummer's lack of environmental sensitivity. So for $39,000, a Hummer H2 owner can get a Duramax diesel/Allison transmission (see the blue Hummer) swap and increase fuel economy up to 22mpg. H1 owners can lose the ancient 6.5-liter diesel and get the Duramax as well, but the price starts at $50,000. And if you're really into alternative fuels, Predator offers biodiesel conversions, propane and even pure hydrogen. To demonstrate these options, Predator showed off a Hummer

The range on hydrogen will be about 5-10 miles. Nothing against the Hummer here, but compressed hydrogen isn't a very energy dense fuel. ...and they complain about battery electric cars not having much range?

Wow! Stop the presses, a Hummer gets 22mpg! When do Americans wise-up and stop buying nonsense vehicles such as Hummers. They are dinosaurs that serve no purpose--except for males to claim "mine is bigger than yours". Poorly made, horrendous maintenance, overpriced and lousy mpg. When will people stop our dependence on foreign oil and stop feeding the terrorists?

Wow! Stop the presses, another person trying to decide what I would decide that I want to buy. Who cares whether it serves a practical purpose or not? Why is the "practical purpose" rule only in effect for the vehicles that people drive? When someone can tell me that they only do or purchase things that have a practical purpose, I'll first call them Amish, then laugh at them, then go on about whatever I was doing before.
I'll save the arguments over where in fact we buy the majority of our oil from since this article is about ALTERNATIVE FUEL choices.

Yes, these do serve a purpose. Ask my fellow brotheren serving in the middle east. I think if you can afford the price of one, the gas pump sting won't hurt. I feel you on all the emissions, and the alternative fuels for Hummer are a lot better. Hydrogen being a far better choice, see article in last Mother Earth News. I tend to lean more toward self-preservation than what the cost of the fuel. Yes, they are big and heavy. I would say your chance of injury is drastically reduced verses say a civic or similar in a highway accident. Just a thought.
Oil prices tend to rise mainly because the over-burden regulations taxed on the processes used to bring it from the ground to end consumer. Read about the north slope of Alaska if you want an eye-opener. All the oil we need for the next 100 years is there, you will not see any coming to the states anytime soon. DO NOT BELIEVE ME; READ 'Non-Energy Crisis'.
You can also on the diesels run on veggie-diesel, this would require a conversion kit, not bad alternative when you can get used fry-oil for FREE! The gas-burner well, hydrogen or ethanol(homebrewed whiskey:i.e. moonshine), little or no emissions.
An after thought to ponder, why do we still think that our engines have to burn something in order to generate energy. The design of our modern engines have not really evolved that much from the early 1900's. One thing for certain, people who are seeking to find better ways will eventually find them.
Be alert, pay attention, be safe, & for the others on the highways WATCH WHAT YOU ARE DOING, YOU HAVE ONE PURPOSE IF YOU ARE BEHIND THE WHEEL=DRIVE!

All gas vehicles could benefit from using an alternative fuel. The main problem is they won't bother to change engine set-up. A internal combustion engine will run on almost anything that burns. A nice piece in the 'Mother Earth News' about the use of hydrogen.
Oil prices continue to rise due to mainly the over-burdened regulations placed on them not so much usage. A real eye-opener on this is a book 'Non-Energy Crisis', read it for yourself? And no we do not pay over $60 USD per barrel? Try >$10? That is a whole different story.
What? Global 'sheeple' Warming? FACTS NOT THEORIES, PLEASE. ( I have a theory that I have a million dollars in my checking account; fact is if I write a half-million dollar check, I get to wear a nice governmental uniform.) Why would the masses only want to believe everything that the news spits out? Think and invent make up your own mind.
A fact Alaska's north slope has all the oil North America needs for the next 100 years. When will it be sent down the pipeline? Not in the next 3-5 years. Find out for yourself.
Diesel engine created by R. Diesel to run on peanut oil (corn, soy, used fry oil, etc.) it just was not cost effect for this in the early 1900s. Well, what are we waiting for today? We grow enough grain that at least 40% or more of vehicles could benefit from this now.
A final side-note; YOU HAVE ONLY ONE PURPOSE WHEN YOU ARE THE DRIVER OF A VEHICLE= "DRIVE". Be safe, watch out, & Please pay attention.

The conversion above is from a company call SAE Energy Technology. We offer a dual fuel option to run several different kind of fuels to include Propane, Hydrogen, Ehtanol etc to be mixed with diesel or Biodiesel. This can be supplied up to a 40/60 mixture. It is a patented sysem of computers and delivery intake. It is fabulous. The Hydrogen
dual fuel has a range of over 450 miles. The Ethanol diesel system is unique and offers the opportunity to run Ethanol E85 with the diesel in a 40/60 mixture. We have no partnership with Predator. They supplied the bumper with our Hummer only and nothing else.
