Lots of lawn mowers now running on E10
All those noisy gasoline-powered lawn mowers you hear across America are at least emitting less pollution, according to an article in Sunday's Columbus Dispatch. Lawn mowers are increasingly powered by E10, but the small engines can't handle a higher ethanol blend than that, said a John Deere official quoted in the story. He added that a lot of lawn equipment manufacturers are looking at making more ethanol compatible engines. Too much ethanol can cause the engine to overheat, said a service specialist for Kohler engines in Kohler, Wis. quoted in the story. The right amount of ethanol, though, will actually cool the engine better than straight gasoline.

Having just bought a new lawnmower recently I did all the research to find an E85 lawnmower, a diesel (ala bio-diesel) lawnmower and researched electric. The electrics are just not there yet. Either too small cutting path or fixed batteries which is stupid IMO. Make the batteries easy to swap out and a decent cut path.
